Is anyone planning on watching Dubya's speech tonight?

I think I'm going to see "Garden State" tonight, rather than sit in front of the television.

i'll probably have Cartoon Network on. I'm sure there will be more intelligent conversations there.

I'll wait for Jon Stewart's recap tomorrow night on The Daily Show.

I can already tell you how Bush's speech will go. Tonight he will show resolve, conviction and leadership, in face of Democrat weakness and confusion. It doesn't take a genious to figure out how these things work.

Did you know that a constitutional amendment to ban civil unions for gays, and to ban abortion are part of the Republican Party platform? I find it amazing that we're electing these people who have hate written into the very platform of their party.

While I don't agree with the banning gay civil unions at all and find it completely ludicrous that they're actually using prejudice as a platform, I think, and hope there always will be, a considerable number of people against abortion. While I think it should be an individual choice we need people fighting against it to maintain some sort of balance. It's a risky business and should not at all be taken lightly and both the pros and cons should always be considered heavily.

As far as gay civil unions... well, I'm simply dumbfounded in our day and age why this is even an issue of concern at all.
