You were given a chance to not be a hypocrite. You started the conversation saying it's more important to discuss what's going on instead of attacking the other person. He asks you questions about yourself and you do exactly what he does, turn it on him. "Did I flip flop? Well did I send a bunch of kids to war?"

This proves that you shouldn't watch T.V. and play The Sims at the same time. I think you misheard him. Watch the interview again on Comedy Central's webpage, what he said was "I've flip-flopped, flop-flipped" and then went on to say "it doesn't help you to be stubborn in the wrong decision. I think the president's stubborn."
I don't see how he was a hypocrite. He's no glamour boy spokes model for the Democratic Party, but I don't see what your beef with him was.

I'd argue with you if that statement wasn't true.
I still felt like he was putting more energy into Bush Bashing than necessary. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I was just playing the sims at that point. I did notice after the break he didn't mention Bush directly again. I wondered if someone said something to him during the break.
He did make one witty remark that I think John and the crowd failed to pick up on. When John asked Senator Kerry about his feeling re: the swift boat vets Kerry replied "Believe it or not, I've been through worse."
That was funny! No one laughed! Oh Kerry, I feel your pain. No one gets my humor either. :(

My point proven, thank you Jesus!

It's a tricky situation. If he keeps attacking Bush then people are going to start seeing Kerry running a negative campaign and that could possibly begin to hurt him. On the other hand if he sits along the side trying to take the high road, people might see him as a big pussy that won't stand up to the Republican smear machine. He's damned if does and he's damned if he doesn't.
I think now that MoveOn.Org has this huge ad campaign coming out, Kerry should turn to a truely positive message and let the 527 groups do the Bush bashing for him. Afterall, that's almost what the president is doing now.

It wasn't very funny. I'd hate to be Kerry right now. All these reporters wanting to talk to you, and the entire time you're in front of any camera you have to tread in thin ice with what you say. I can see how some politicians come across as fake and insincere. If they didn't, their opponents would tear them to shreds.
