1. 1929-1940: Depression & the New Deal.

2. 1964-1979: Vietnam & Civil Rights

3. 1941-52: World War.

Sheesh, I'm so optomistic.

3. 1953-1963: Cold War.

I tried it a bunch of times with way different answers and still got the Depression & New Deal as my first choice...
